The Differences and Similarities Between USA and UK.

Did you think that all the countries are similar? Well, of course not! Each country has nice things that makes it more special than the other. Today, I’ll be talking about the similarities and differences between USA and UK.

U.S and U.K have many differences; well, they still have some similarities! The U.S is located

in North America, and it contains 50 states. However, U.K is located in the north-western of Europe. So, they’re a bit far from each other, officially it has no states.

U.S has many famous places, one of them is the Grand Canyon, it is located in northern Arizona. The most famous city is New York. On the other hand, U.K also has many famous places, but the most one that attracts tourists is Stonehenge. The most famous city is London.

Are you ready for the big difference? Did you know that U.S and U.K have a completely different political rules?! Well, it’s time for you to know. During the elections in U.S, citizens can vote directly for the president. They vote for a president that will last for four years. The type of government is a Republic, which contains three branches of government. U.S have two main parties: Republican and Democratic. However, during the elections in U.K, citizens vote in general elections only for a political party and their local Member of Parliament. Only if the party secures a majority in parliament, does that party’s leader then become the Prime Minister. They vote for a prime president that holds power only while his or her political party commands a majority of votes in the House of Commons. The type of government is Constitutional monarchy. U.K has three main parties: Conservative, Labour, and Liberal Democratic. Note that in U.K the Royal family has very little political power.

The currency in U.S is the American dollar. In contrast, the currency in the U.K is the European pounds.    

Even though, U.S and U.K have many differences, but it’s time to talk about some similarities! Have you ever noticed that U.S and U.K both have same flag colour? The flag of U.S colours are blue, red, and white. U.K flag also has the same colours.

Both U.S and U.K main language is English. They still have some other languages but the most common one is English.     

Furthermore, U.S and U.K are democracies in which all citizens have equal access to political power and enjoy universally recognized freedoms and liberties.

 To conclude, there are many differences between U.S and U.K. Some of the major differences are: Political rules, location, culture, currency, etc. There are quite few similarities, like: language, flag colour, equal access of citizens, etc. These differences and similarities that make each country more special than the other with its satisfying characteristics that will make them both great countries to visit.
